Cool Springs Shawl to knit

Cool Springs Shawl is a quick-to-knit garter stitch shawl that has rows of yarnover holes sprinkled through the project. Cast on and knit from the bottom up. For a summery shawl or scarf, choose a linen, cotton, rayon, or silk blend yarn. For warmer wear, choose wool. If you flip this shawl over your head, it becomes a hooded scarf. (Small point over head with arms wrapped around your neck.)

I used 3 skeins of Berroco Linsey yarn (a cotton linen blend) for the pictured shawl. The yarn is much prettier than the picture shows.

You'll need 350 yards of worsted weight yarn and size 9 (5.5 mm) knitting needles for a 69" neckline x 14.5" deep shawl (unblocked). If you have more yarn, you can make it even larger.

This shawl can be knit with any weight of yarn you like by changing the needles to suit the yarn you have chosen.

It looks good knit in a solid color or a yarn with long color runs. The 3 page pattern includes written instructions and a line-by-line chart with stitch counts provided by my tester Liz.
