HAIRBAND or BRACELET?
4-5 yards of eyelash or novelty yarn
pony tail elastic bands (double click on pic for a closer look)
Size H crochet hook
I worked about 30 single crochets over the elastic band. Do enough to cover the band but not enough to stretch it out. Cut the yarn, pulling the end through the last loop. Tie the beginning and ending tails together. Put both ends through a yarn needle and weave them into the stitches. Easy, peasy!
I'm working on more items for the bazaar. I finished knitting a baby bib in cotton yarn last night. Once I sew on a button it will be ready to go.
Here's the curly scarf I knitted from one skein of sport weight yarn (125 yards). I used size 8 (5 mm) needles and cast on 70 stitches. Knitted a few rows, doubled the stitch count in the next row (140 sts), and repeated this until I had 560 stitches on the needles. I had to move up to a 47" Addi circular to handle all the stitches. Knit a few more rows and then bind off because I was almost out of yarn. It finished at 30" long by 2.5" wide. If I had more yarn I would have started with 100 sts for a longer scarf.
