Heart Tote to crochet

Some of you may recognize the heart filet pattern used in this bag. I used it for a baby blanket and a scarf last year. But it kept telling me it wanted to be a tote bag. I started it and put it aside for awhile as I couldn’t figure out the handle. Picked it up again last month, everything clicked into place, and I finished it up. Love how it turned out!

This Heart Tote is worked in the round from the bottom up with filet crochet heart panels. The handle is made in Tunisian crochet and it rolls to form a tubular shoulder strap. It's attached as you work the handle so no seaming!

I lined mine bag but you don’t have to. I made the lining a little wider and longer so the bag could stretch a bit.

You’ll need 300 yards of worsted weight yarn and a size H (5 mm) crochet hook for this project. Finished size of bag is 14” tall x 14” wide. I made mine with Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton in apple green.

The four page pattern includes written instructions, a crochet chart, and a tutorial showing how to make stronger stitch joins. It is available in my Ravelry pattern store.
