Chilly Forecast is a hat and cowl set for women. Both are knit in the bottom up in the round. The swirl stitch pattern is very easy to knit. Keeping the top of the hat in pattern as it decreases is a little tricky but follow the instructions and it will work out. Finish the top of the hat with an I-cord knot. Pictured hat was knit with Malabrigo worsted on a size 8 - 16” circular and dpns for the top. Hat measures 19” at ribbing, 22” around body and 9” tall. Hat is a little slouchy. Use a smaller size needle for a smaller hat. Cowl was knit with Malabrigo worsted in lettuce on a size 9 - 16” circular. Finished size is 29” around x 6” tall. (Make a longer cowl if you like.) About 255 yards of any Aran weight yarn should make the hat and cowl. The two page pattern sells for $4.00.
