Baboodie - a baby hoodie to knit

Baboodie is a baby hoodie that I created after knitting lots of different baby sweaters that weren't quite what I wanted. This pattern is a blank canvas for any special stitch pattern, stripes, or color work you wish to add to it.

The sweater is knit from the hood down to the bottom in one piece. After knitting the yoke increases, you put the sleeve stitches off on waste yarn and knit the body of the sweater. Then go back and knit the sleeves flat and seam them or knit them seamless in the round. You'll need 3 buttons, 200 yards of Aran or heavy worsted weight yarn and size 9 circular knitting needles. (For worsted weight I would suggest size 8 needles which will give you a slightly smaller sweater.)

The sweater should fit sizes 6-14 months. Buttoned my sweater measured 18.5" around the chest.

The four page pattern has written instructions.

Cute pattern. I haven't done a top down with a hood. I am not on Ravelry so I won't be buying patterns, but it is super cute. Probably wise for Indiana weather.

Vicki love you blogspot. this is Joanie from the group. I love your pattern for the top down hoodie for baby. Quetion! How would I increase the pattern for say like a 2 year size. My grand daughter is almost a year one and is wearing a 18 moths now. I have always loved top down patterns.
